EducationUSA Lagos is part of a network of over 400 Advising Centers in 176 countries. Operating at the Public Affairs Section of the United States Consulate in Lagos, we offer students access to accurate, comprehensive, and current information about higher educational institutions in the United States. We also serve as a point of contact for accredited U.S. institutions that seek accurate information about the Nigerian educational system.

What We Do

We offer a free weekly general orientation session where we discuss the process of applying to U.S. Colleges and Universities. We also organize outreach to secondary schools, and American Corners, as well as conduct training seminars for teachers and guidance counsellors, to empower them with the knowledge they need to guide their students in applying to U.S. schools.
We have a highly selective membership program which targets students who are academically qualified to study in the U.S. We take them through the Five steps of applying to the most appropriate schools. Students who are admitted to U.S. institutions are then invited to a Pre-Departure Orientation where they can get to learn about the U.S. classroom and society.
We coordinate the Opportunity Funds Program to recruit High Achieving, Low Income (HALI) students. We work with them to apply to fully funded programs in the U.S.
EducationUSA also proctors examinations for distance learning students of U.S. institutions.
